LIVING HISTORY KNIVES - LIMITED EDITIONS

Own a little bit of history...

Incorporated into the design of each handle is rare and historic wood from a tree that stood witness to deeds of valor - lives lived and lost. That wood has been lovingly preserved to remind each of us their place in history , lifestyles and beliefs of the time the represent.

This will be a collection everyone will want , and be proud to own

( One will be introduced per year )

The handle is made from the wood of a 600 year old tulip poplar known as a "Liberty Tree". "Liberty Trees" were designated meeting places for the colonials to discuss the rebellion, since it was too dangerous for these men to gather indoors. It is likely that the tree that provided the wood for these knives was the last remaining Liberty Tree, and it fell to a hurricane in Annapolis, MD.

The hand-turned handle is taken from a large limb of a live oak that grows on the Alamo grounds. The familiar blade is 14" long and is crafted from high-carbon steel, hand-forged over a 10-day period. The blade is engraved on both sides with historical tributes to the men who fought and died at the Alamo. On each side is a single gold star for the fabled Lone Star of Texas. It is engraved with "Give Me Help, Oh my Country," and has a certificate of authenticity. Only 1,836 will be made, representing the year of the Battle of the Alamo.

The blade is hand-knapped, mahogany obsidian. Each knife also comes with a sheath, hand-made from brain-tanned buckskin and beaded by Native American craftsmen. The handle for this knife comes from a "sacred grove" of aspen in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
